All families going though our fost/adopt training attend the twenty four hour precertification class which includes six hours of specific adoption related issues.  Adoption topics covered include the adoption triad, the life cycle of the adoptive family, multicultural families, open vs. closed adoption, attachment issues in adoption and grief and loss issues experienced by the triad members.

Also discussed are specific issues related to fost/adopt situations such as the Dependency Court process and working in conjunction with the Department of Children and Family Services.

SCFFAA welcomes people who are going through the Independent and International Adoption process to attend our Adoption Specific Workshops and to make use of our Adoption Home Study, Post Placement and Post Adoption Services. We will work closely with your attorney or out of state agency to make your experience a positive one.
